NEW PROJECTS

"What's next for the Barna Railway?"

If I get the time here are a few new projects I would like to complete during 2009. I managed to build three new buildings in 2008 and relay the station track and points so hopefully I can continue this good work into the new year.

Barna Station

This project is still under construction. (Yes I could have built a full size station quicker..!).

The old platform has now been removed and a new set of points installed forming a crossover.

I now have a short siding to store a locomotive on.

I hope to start this project in the spring, this building project requires the construction of the new platform, station canopy, platform building, a bridge over the railway and a station building back drop.

It's really hard to find the time now but hopefully this will be completed in 2009.

New Projects for 2009

I have a number of new projects that I hope to complete during 2009, these include the building of some new signals, a small signal cabin for the boiler house sidings, a timber backdrop of a large factory scene for behind the fuel depot, and I'm also planning to build a small tram style locomotive from scratch.

Track Cleaning Car

Early testing of the track cleaning car was very successful, however I decided to change the design slightly so it didn't see much use in 2008. The modified track cleaning car should be entering service in the Spring of 2009.
